Fundraising

We do not receive any government or local authority grants. Although we are affiliated to Mencap we do not receive any funding from them. All the services we provide are funded by our own fundraising efforts, donations and grants from trusts.

We welcome donations either by cheque or cash directly to the office. Don't forget that if you are a tax payer you can Gift Aid your donation - it makes your money go further!

Collections

Each year during Learning Disability Week we have house to house collections. If you would be interested in collecting in your street please contact us on 0117 9614372.

Greener Solutions

Do you have an old mobile phone you no longer use?

We have teamed up with Greener Solutions a company which recycles old phones. For every phone that we send to them we will receive £3.00.

If you have a phone you would like to donate either drop it into our office, or contact us for a Freepost envelope to send it to them directly. Tell all your friends - we have plenty of envelopes and want to collect as many as possible.

Why we need funds

We fund a part-time Project Director to manage our various projects and keep in touch with our members.
We fund a part-time Volunteer Co-ordinator to recruit and train our volunteers.
We run a drop-in centre in Kingswood and evening social clubs.
We also fund specific projects and outings for local learning disability clubs.

We work with the local councils and other organisations to help to provide better services for people with a learning disability.

We are members of the Fundraising Standards Board and as such are signed up to national standards of fundraising.
