Friday Fun Club




Avon-North Mencap runs a social club on a Friday evening. It runs from 7-9pm and is open to anyone with a learning disability aged 18 years and over. We meet at Marlwood School, Vattingstone Lane, Alveston. To find out where Marlwood School is click here.
We have a leader called Janine and many volunteers who help out. We have lots of different activities running plus it's a chance to relax with your friends. We also sell refreshments.
There is a one-off registration fee of £10 and then it only costs £2 for each time you attend. You do not have to go every week, just when you feel like it.

Goodbye!
On 18th September we were sad to say goodbye to Dan, Laura. Lucy and Catherine who have been volunteering at Club for the past year. They are off to university and new jobs. We would like to thank them for all their hard work over the last year and wish them well in the future. Pictures of the leaving party above and below.

Leader
We are pleased to annnounce that Janine Banks has been appointed the permanent leader of Friday Fun Club. We would like to thank her for taking over Club at such short notice.

New name
As the club now no longer meets in Thornbury we thought it was time to choose a name to reflect what happens there. Everyone was asked for suggestions and the winning name was suggested by Alastair Sugden - well done!
The club is now called the Friday Fun Club.
